Farming models farm energy from the CSO Census of Agriculture 2020 by Electoral Division: dairy cows, other cattle, sheep and hectares of cereals, each at the baseline workbook’s yearly electricity and diesel rates. By default a community counts every Electoral Division it touches in full, because a village’s farms sit around it rather than inside its Small Areas; switch to own land only to scale by land area. A count the committee knows scales the herd. Applied nationally the rates run about 1.5 times SEAI’s agriculture total, so treat the figures as an order of magnitude and compare them with the national picture card.
